The World Series of Video Games held a Miss World Series of Video Games Beauty Contest. The mistake that they made was that the only game-related requirement was to ask contestants what was their favorite game. Serious female gamers such as The Frag Dolls and the PMS clan stopped their members from joining the contest. It became clear that professional models were expected to sign up and win the contest. No gaming experience or evidence of game prowess went into the selection of the “Miss WSVG” winner.

Then the PMS (Pandora’s Mighty Soldiers) and the Frag Dolls boycotted the competition. With the thought being that turn about is fair play, a Mr. World Series of Video Games is planned for the next destination in Dallas Texas. We will have to see how male gamers feel about being upstaged by male models if any show up for the event.

”It’s not really a video gamer who’ll be crowned. It’s a model,” PMS cofounder Amber Dalton.

Ubisoft’s Morgan Romine, who markets Ubisoft’s Frag Dolls, said she and the women “have to fight the perception that we’re booth babes. We’re gamers first. We felt that this was threatening that.”

Geek Woman : Amber what is going on with all this noise about a beauty contest?

Amber/ Athena Twin: Anyway, we were not really trying to bash the Ms. WSVG contest, we just wanted to make sure none of our girls entered since it was a “beauty” contest, not a “Gamer Girl” contest. If they had put some gameplay or game trivia in with it to make it relevent to the gaming, we would not have had such an issue. Alas, they did not. Only two entries even put down a response for thier favorite game. We did not mind if other girls supported it, as we take no offense to beauty contest at all. People could wear marshmellows on thier heads if it makes them happy for all we care, lol. However, we just did not feel that represented what PMS Clan stood for, and did not want our members participating.

Geek Woman : That sounds understandable to me. And you found a way to turn the tables on the men?

Amber/ Athena Twin : So, That is why we did the boycott of the contest and joined Frag Doll’s Mr. World Series of video Games a”Mr WSVG” contest that was totally unrealated to videogames as well.
