According to reports from Ironforge and then subsequently Stormwind and Westfall a procession of about 200 Alliance members attempted to draw attention to their long shot Republican primary candidate Ron Paul, who is this election season’s ‘forgettable Ross Perot’. The WoW demonstration reportedly seems to have gone smoothly, without a noted amount of griefing and PKing. Some players went as far as to  create fitting names and guild affiliations to indicate support for the candidate. Others decorated armor with a scroll symbol meant to represent the US Constitution. As expected there were a few reports of verbal abuse and /spitting. Hecklers in WoW must have found the event a little to boring to bother with since the poor turnout attracted a less than statistically significant number of the 11 million WoW members. Gamers on the affected servers also reported annoyance at the lag times experienced.
