spore.jpgThe Best Game for New Gamers is Spore. This game is a terrific introduction to being a gamer by learning about it from the ground up.

fable_2.jpgThe Best RPG is Fable II. It’s pretty deep and ingenious. The dog is a good best character in a game candidate too.

ut3_box.jpgThe Best Shooter is Unreal Tournament III. There is good reason why so many developers use this game engine. It’s because it’s great. Get the real Unreal.

gh_asmith.jpgThe Best Music in a Game goes to the Guitar Hero Aerosmith Bundle. Undeniably the best music in a game for ’08.

fallout3_ps3.jpgThe Best Female Character in a Game goes to Fallout 3. It has an extensive character customization system. Through the use of the G.O.A.T. aptitude test and other personality tests, you can customize how your character ‘thinks’ as well as appears. They have tackled the difficult issue of gender in video games and excelled. With this system it really feels like you are immersed in the world.

Best Game of ’08 also goes to Fallout 3. Not a difficult choice since Oblivion was also game of the year material. This has all the depth of Oblivion with a whole new layer of its own on top of it. Its a gritty shooter with detailed and elaborate RPG elements to round out a full on experience. That review will be coming up soon.
