logoWe picked up the Merkury Innovations LCD Digital Photo Frame at Kmart. The compact pink 1.5″ LCD Digital Photo Viewer looked like it would be great for storing photos of my dog. But it was not to be. The packaging said that it worked for both Mac 100387_85_1and PC which we thought would be perfect since we are a cross platform family here. As usual with devices that say they also work on OSX, the software that it came with was not Mac compatible. It wasn’t PC compatible either.
The photo storage and image manipulation software came on a mini disk. The slot on the iMac would not take it. The tray on the Dell laptop could not read it because the disk was too small for the laser to see it.
The new MSI Wind does not have a DVD tray, and the downloaded version of the software did not run. We tried to use it just as a storage device since it is just a thumb drive basically, and it wouldn’t work that way which it should have.
The customer service department sent us a form letter when we inquired about it. No points for service either. This gadget was a total piece of junk and we brought it back to the store. The moral of the story is don’t buy from a company that dosn’t know how to spell.
