When it comes to games and gadgets I am often saying “I told you so.” This time I’m going to indulge in making some predictions of the next big thing. The rumors about the “Apple Touch Tablet” are fairly common now. People have seen patents and assumed things. If all of these alleged theories are true, it will be the iNextBigThing. Trust me. If the convenience of a full keyboard netbook laptop can be banged together with the intuitive functionality of an iPhone, it will be a super-product. A touch tablet PC will have everyone tapping and pinching like Star Trek. This would mean a revolution for PC gaming. Would it nudge previously Windows exclusive MMORPG makers to move platforms a little? There may be three times as many Windows based PC’s running instead of OSX, but how many iPods are there versus the Zune? Windows may have an edge, but perhaps that edge may be dulled with the next new hardware innovation from Apple.  And then there were knock offs. Digging up one other old piece of dirt I need to mention that the original personal computer was invented by Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs of Apple, and that the DOS system was a dirty operating system stolen and backwards engineered by Bill Gates. In case you are too young to know that. Will game developers sit back and endorse the knock offs that will inevitably follow the “Apple Touch Tablet”? Or will they step up with aps for the hardware that is shiniest?
