I have been using these two Apps for monitoring seismic activity since January 12.  3D Sun gives the solar weather and it’s a Free App. It is this distant influx of particles that have electromagnetic effects on our planet and our weather. The month of February according to 3D Sun has had sunspots everyday. They also mention that NOAA forecasters are expecting a 20% increase of polar geomagnetic activity from today until Monday. Geomagnetic storms are one of the theories of earthquake prediction. As an amateur it seems pretty convincing to me.

Quake Watch is a 99 cent App that allows you to enter your location with GPS and also add other locations so that you can monitor quakes. There have been small quakes going on in Hati, Southern California, Baja, Mexico and off the shore of South America that I have noticed pretty much constantly since I started checking it last month. These two Apps along with Iris and the USGS Volcano Hazards page bookmarked on your iPod touch or iPhone will help you track extreme weather.
